FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you ship internationally?
Absolutely. I love to.
How can I track my order?
After placing your order, you will automatically receive tracking information with your confirmation email. From there, you can easily monitor your shipment online.
When will my order ship?
Unless otherwise specified (e.g. made-to-order items), all packages ship via USPS Priority Mail within 1-2 business days after submitting your order.
When will my order arrive?
Within the continental US, your package should arrive within 3-5 business days. For international orders, please expect your shipment to arrive within 10-20 business days barring any sort of inane acts of international customs.
Where can I direct press inquiries?
I would start by downloading the press kit, but you can always reach Jake via email.
Do you offer sales or discounts?
Yes, but I reserve both pretty much exclusively for my email subscribers, so the only reliable, sure-fire way to reap the benefits of your interest and enthusiasm is to sign up in the footer below. Don't fret; I only send a couple emails per year and they're pretty low-key.
Do you do partnerships or collaborations?
Hell yes. That said, I’m very selective about the businesses and creatives I partner with. This isn’t to be a dick, but to ensure that any potential projects are genuine, fun, and rewarding for all parties involved. If you’re a cool company or independent creative with a solid concept and a great demeanor, shoot me a note.
I really like your skateboard decks but want to use my own components. Can I just order decks on their own?
Yep. You do you. Just send me an email about what deck(s) you're looking to buy and we'll go from there. So you know, the deck-only prices for Classic Cruisers, Mini-cruisers, and Longboards start at $195—and Wee Beasties start at $145. These prices may increase depending on the specific wood species used per deck.
Do Side Project Skateboards come with griptape?
Yes and no. Rather than traditional griptape, which conceals the beauty of the natural wood grain, Side Project Skateboards are generally finished with an optional topcoat of Lucid Grip—a phenomenally clear grip system that uses a recycled glass composite to keep your feet where they need to be without compromising the visual appeal of each board. It's worth noting that (like most other SPS components) Lucid Grip is also made in the states. You can also order SPS decks without Lucid Grip if you ride barefoot or plan to display your board. Just specify your preference during checkout.
How do I care for my Side Project Skateboards?
Use your noggin. These boards are built according to high performance standards and can thus weather heavy abuse. Side Project Skateboards are sealed with marine grade varnish, but it’s generally best to not expose your board to water. Similarly, it’s a bad idea to leave your board in extremely hot or humid environments for prolonged periods of time. If you encounter an issue, just let me know and I’ll be happy to discuss the details.
What’s the best way to pay?
Money is always a good bet. For special or pre-orders, you can pay online through PayPal. For traditional orders, I accept any US-issued and most internationally-issued magstripe or chip cards bearing a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, or UnionPay logo. And if you really want to go crazy, you can also easily place orders on your mobile device.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Only if you receive the wrong skateboard or if it's damaged upon arrival. Orders cannot be canceled once they are placed.
Where do you source your components?
Aside from bearings, every aspect of Side Project Skateboards is made here in the US. However, it’s not just about supporting local vendors because they are local—I procure the best, highest-quality and most aesthetically appealing materials I can find. Happily, they’re predominantly produced close to home.
What's the deal with the leather risers?
Well in addition to looking better, my leather risers are far more shock absorbent than plastic alternatives, making for an incredibly smooth ride. Each riser is cut from Horween Chromexcel—a renowned leather prized for its unique blend of softness and durability.
